October 2021 … Black History Month – Proud to Be

October is Black History Month, and this year the theme is ‘Proud To Be’. It invites Black and Brown people of all ages throughout the UK to share what they are proud to be. For example, Proud To Be Black, Proud To Be Brown, Proud To Be Black & LGBTQ+, Proud To Be Me.

Schofield Lothian is taking part in this national campaign, and we’re aiming to inspire and share the pride that our employees have in their heritage and culture – in their own way and in their own words. We pride ourselves on having strong company values:

  • Honest – we tell the truth, we will be sincere and fair
  • Respectful – we show regard and consideration for the opinions of other
  • Integral & Trustworthy – we demonstrate strong moral principles and are trustworthy
  • Collaborative – we work to achieve shared goals
  • Accountable – we are accountable and responsible for our actions and results

As part of the campaign, we’re asking employees to share what they are Proud To Be and we will share individual stories and the vast richness of diversity that our employees bring to the UK. Black Lives Matter means people being able to live life to the fullest without having to compromise who they are. Everyone deserves the right to be “Proud To Be” and demonstrate everything that they are and what they want to be in life.
